Postcard: Coffee break in Zakopane, Poland | Brussels Travel Photographer
I don’t know if the photo truly conveys the size of this donut or pączek, as they are called in Poland. I would describe it as somewhere in between too big and ginormous. Even by my American standards, this was just too much. But oh my was it delicious! In Poland, the options for satisfying my sweet tooth went far beyond my expectations. In fact, the sheer number of enticing choices would send me into the deepest depths of indecision. Often I would end up with another (regular sized) pączek simply because I couldn’t decide on something else.

had no idea that poland had such great desserts, what a nice suprise!!
Poland is full of delicious surprises. Can’t wait to go back for more!
Wowza! What’s inside? I love that profile pic of you btw!
Thanks Amy! This one had chocolate inside but there are lots of different fillings to choose from usually.
OMG is right! that looks amazing especially as i sit in front of my measly slice of peanut butter toast
Haha Peanut butter toast sounds pretty good too, though.
OMG… yum! I think I will have to fast before my Poland trip
Seriously…By the end, we were eating only because we didn’t want to miss anything. We’d stopped actually feeling hungry about a week into the trip. Lol It was awesome. Now I want to go back!!
Haha, you’ve gotten me seriously excited for this trip. Of course, have to survive the North America marathon first… speaking of too much food
So true. I always eat waaay too much when I go to the US. Hopefully you’ll be able to recover before going to Poland, because you are going to be in paradise! I forgot to mention in the post that there are Polish shops in St. Gilles that sell pastries, including the pączki, if you want a preview. =)
