About Amy

Hi! I’m Amy, a freelance photographer currently living in Québec, QC, Canada with my husband, Mathieu. When I’m not taking photos, I can be found hiking the beautiful parks of Québec, sampling maple products or planning our next trip. My passion for photography is often inspired by my love of good food and discovering new places.

I’ve always been fascinated by photography, but didn’t pick up a camera until college. In 2004, I received a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida and went on to intern with Photo Services at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. I then spent 2 years working with a school portrait company in the D.C. metro area. In 2006, my desire to see the world motivated me to realize my life-long dream of living in France. After 2 years in France and 3 years in Brussels, Belgium, I now find myself discovering life in Québec. My travels and experiences throughout the past few years have greatly enriched and inspired not only my life, but my photography as well.

Bela Lumo Photography is focused primarily on creating custom portraits of families, newborns, children and engaged couples, however on this blog you will also find some of my travel and sports photography. Blogging is a way for me to keep everyone updated on my latest projects, as well as share stories of my travels and life in Québec.
