Postcard: Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, Maine

Built in 1858, Acadia National Park’s iconic lighthouse stands at the entrance to Bass Harbor and Blue Hill Bay on the southwestern coast of Mount Desert Island.

Postcard: Le Château Frontenac

The Château Frontenac got a roof makeover. Doesn’t it look nice?

Postcard: Chicago

One of the best “must see” tips we got from friends was to have a drink in the Signature Lounge of the John Hancock building instead of paying the admission to the observatory. We arrived a bit before dusk, and managed to get seats right away. Once you have something to sip on, you are welcome to stay as long as you’d like. We admired the view until the sun set, which was just breathtaking.

Postcard: Waber Falls, Parc National de la Mauricie, Québec

Postcard: Bar Laitier

Summer weekends in Québec are synonymous with the bar laitier (that’s ice cream shop to you and me). It’s definitely one of my favorite things about living here.

Postcard: Stormy Dubrovnik

Postcard: Le Bas Saint Laurent

We came across this lovely spot while taking the scenic route home from the Parc National du Bic. It’s on the southern coast of the St. Laurent, though I couldn’t tell you exactly where.

Postcard: Kravice Waterfall

A few years ago, we took a roadtrip through Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina. It still ranks as one of our all-time best travel experiences.

Postcard: Colorful Colmar

The streets of Colmar in the Alsace region of France are lined with colorful, timber-framed houses.
