Watching the World Cup final in the NL | Brussels Travel Photographer

Despite the US and French teams already being eliminated (insert jokes here), and neither one of us a huge soccer fan, we still decided to head over to watch the World Cup final with the Dutch. Maastricht is only an hour and a half from Brussels, so why not? It was a sweaty sea of oranje, with claustrophobia-inducing crowds and noisy vuvuzelas and air horns threatening temporary hearing loss. When it was all over, somber fans pedaled quietly home on their bikes while the few brave Spanish supporters shared reserved smiles and hugs.
